How do we connect with our animal soul? Is it through acts of extreme self expression that we can locate and render the animalistic spirit into our reality, or is it met through a more physical and spiritual journey?

what constitutes extreme? levels of self expression…and interesting the ideas of physical and spiritual coexisting as if the physical must exist to ground the spiritual. Aren’t we always trying to release our animal spirit/ nature? Is it not common to want to be as close to that state as possible? this is hard because I feel like both of those paths exist in everyday life and I’m exposed and using them both to further understand my own being and my inner being (my animal nature=my own truth).

a book that i was reading called Metu Neter, talks about the animal aspect of the spirit which they call the Sahu. they indentify it as the lower part of our being that rules the right hemisphere of the brain and gives us basic survival traits and what not. depending on how we use our minds we can develop those traits creating the challenge to coexist the higher state of consciences with the animal nature. to be extreme could be to fully commit to that wild nature of being while maintaining rationality.
